The Roger Hatchuel Academy is the only place in the world where a selected group of international students can meet, see the best work in Marketing Communications from across the globe, and learn from inspirational industry leaders to help them become great Marketing Communications professionals of the future.


The Academy continues to go from strength to strength. Over the past few years, the world’s next generation of talent gather in Cannes to hear from the likes of Bob Greenberg, Bob Isherwood, David Droga, Michael Conrad and many others.


Students follow an intensive schedule of activities during this week, under the guidance of Dean Rick Boyko, Director and Professor of Brandcenter, and Course Tutor Clive Challis, Head of the Marketing Communications Course at Central Saint Martins, London. Alongside these exclusive sessions, Academy students have full access to the Festival. The programme is designed to be inspiring and educational, it includes:


  • An opening session headed by the Dean and Tutor
  • Daily training sessions with the Tutor, to guide the students through the discovery process
  • Seminars and showcases presented by key industry figures
  • Screening of the world’s best commercials
  • Exhibitions of the most successful work in all forms of Marketing Communications
  • Dedicated master classes for young professionals

To do this at the hallowed Cannes Lions Festival, ‘The’ biggest advertising festival in the world sounded unbelievable!

    Ever since I remember I have loved advertising and being able to attend the Cannes Lions Festival by winning the Roger Hatchuel Academic placement was like a dream come true. Attending a series of master class seminars and lectures was a true learning experience. During this week I learnt so much and met industry experts from all over the world, experts that you would never think you would meet in your life. The Roger Hatchuel Academy is an experience that I will never forget because it’s also a place where Creative Strangers from different parts of the world became a family.

    From the day I started my career in advertising, I knew this is where I belong. Since then I’ve developed a great passion for the industry and my biggest goal has been to learn and grow in this industry.
